Rookie Haskins made his first start for the Redskins in a 24-9 loss to the Buffalo Bills in Week 9.

But Callahan, whose team are 1-8 in 2019, liked what he saw from the 22-year-old, who completed 15 of 22 passes for 144 yards and an 86.2 passer rating.

Callahan also announced Case Keenum will serve as backup to Haskins, with Colt McCoy named as the Redskins’ third option.

Haskins, who played his college football at Ohio State, was selected 15th overall in the 2019 NFL Draft.

The Redskins had a bye for Week 10, but are back in action against the New York Jets on Sunday.
