Had the Dodgers made it, there would have been a bigger buzz in Vegas, not only from the large contingent of visitors from Los Angeles, but also from the southern California transplants who live here. The bet windows would have been a little more frenzied and handle would have been higher with the Dodgers involved, but when Wednesday comes around, baseball will still have center stage in the sports books.

Right now, everyone in town is just catching their breaths from the unbelievable pitching performances from each of these teams and what they had to withstand so far this postseason. How did the Red Sox advance when the Tigers starting pitching was so dominant? And how did the NL‘s top-hitting team from St. Louis manage to hit only .211 in its 11 playoff games and still make it to the World Series?

Those are all questions bettors will surely have asked themselves by Wednesday when Adam Wainwright and Jon Lester square off in Game 1 (8:07 p.m. ET, Fox).

The South Point opened up Boston -125 on Sunday morning, and within an hour it had moved to -150. William Hill opened -140, and the LVH SuperBook -125, which is where both still stood on Monday morning.
