Reddit user Gaudynights recently pointed out that the current site layout seems to suggest that a pair of Red Dead titles are en route. Making reference to two 404ed game pages, the fan goes on to acknowledge how the other entires in the franchise are labelled, noting that the only two games that are out of place on the site are Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption. As it turns out, the fact that the pages exist simply means that Rockstar likely plans on updating them in time – while the numbers on both pages hint at the franchise they fall under.

According to Gaudynights, this means that Rockstar seems to have big plans for its blockbuster Western series.

While a remastered iteration of Red Dead Redemption seems farfetched initially, it’s important to note that it could end up being a rather solid business strategy on the part of Take-Two Interactive. If the sequel to Red Dead Redemption doesn’t arrive until 2017, as is currently rumored, then a high-definition remaster would be a great filler for audiences as they wait for Rockstar’s next massive open-world, horse-riddled adventure. Add in the fact that the allegedly leaked map for the new Red Dead seems to be absolutely massive, and the need for extra development time makes itself quite apparent.

Some may also point to this “other” Red Dead title as potentially being a companion app of sorts, but it should be noted that a similar app for GTAV, iFruit, doesn’t have its own page on Rockstar’s official site – meaning that it’s unlikely Red Dead’s would either. When also considering that Redemption never saw release on PC, the possibility of a remastered iteration of the title really isn’t out of the question.
