While none of this offers definitive confirmation of a forthcoming PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2, all together it certainly suggests that one is on the way. Additionally, Rockstar’s previous two games, Grand Theft Auto 5 and Max Payne 3, were both made available on PC, which definitely sets a precedent for a Red Dead 2 PC port to be released.

With many now expecting a PC version of RDR2, the question then becomes when will it be released. This has of course not been confirmed by Rockstar, as the developer has not even officially announced a PC port of Red Dead Redemption 2, but looking toward the developer’s history may at least provide some idea of a release window.
More specifically, the PC port of Grand Theft Auto 5 was scheduled for release 14 months after its launch on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. While ultimately the release of the GTA5 PC port was delayed by nearly six months, it is reasonable that Rockstar would be targeting a similar turnaround for the launch of Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC. This would put the Red Dead 2 PC release date around December 2019.
While this is highly speculative, a newly circulating rumor plays into the idea. This new Red Dead Redemption 2 PC port rumor states that Rockstar is targeting Holiday 2019 for the release. This rumor additionally suggests that RDR2 on PC will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store and Rockstar Social Club, but that should certainly be approached with skepticism at this time.
Furthermore, the rumor also states that Red Dead Redemption 2 will release on Google Stadia, and it is said that this will be confirmed, alongside a release date, at the next Stadia Connect. Indeed, it is possible that this Stadia release date will be the same as a PC release date, and it may only be a matter of time before this is official. Until then, fans can rest relatively comfortably with the knowledge that a Red Dead 2 port for PC is very likely in their future.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is out now for PS4 and Xbox One.
