Red Dead Redemption 2 serves as the precursor to Red Dead Redemption. Unfortunately, unlike the first game, Red Dead Redemption 2 never received a zombie-themed expansion akin to Red Dead Redemption’s Undead Nightmare. While Red Dead Redemption 2 fans are still disappointed by this, modders can at least step in to create unique outfits and looks that could have existed in such an expansion.

Reddit and NexusMods user TheKey32 shared their creation with the Red Dead Redemption subreddit. In it, a set of images shows Arthur Morgan looking distinctly creepy. His hair is now gray, his skin has become a pallid shade of white, and he looks thin and gaunt. However, his dapper outfit stands in contrast, giving the air of a dangerous but intriguing character, like many vampires in lore.

TheKey32 explained that they used their own Red Dead Redemption 2 PC mod, ‘Old Arthur Morgan 1919,’ which is available to the public, to change the color of Arthur’s hair and make him look aged. On top of that, they did their own custom work to give him a vampirey texture. At the moment, the look isn’t available to the public, but TheKey32 noted that they might make a full mod for vampire Arthur Morgan if enough players expressed interest in it.
TheKey32 and another commenter poke fun at the idea that if Rockstar Games let down the fanbase by not releasing undead content, then they would do it. Of course, with that said, Red Dead Redemption 2 isn’t entirely devoid of the undead. Players were able to hunt down zombies in Red Dead Online during the Halloween event, and the core single-player game contains mysterious clues that, when followed correctly, can lead the player to an actual vampire in the game.
Sadly, most Red Dead Redemption 2 fans have given up in their hopes for memorable expansions and additions to the game, online or otherwise. Rockstar Games has shifted the majority of its focus towards Grand Theft Auto 6, and has officially acknowledged that outside of minor patches and updates, Red Dead Online support has come to a close. Fans will have to settle for the tireless work of modders to add new and interesting content to the game, including spooky alternate looks for Arthur himself.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
