TikTok content creator Whatifgamingggg recently shared a video from their adventure in Red Dead Redemption 2 in which they’re watching an NPC read a letter until the character reacts to their voyeurism. Although Red Dead Redemption 2 hasn’t received a proper next-gen upgrade for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, many Rockstar Games fans continue to be blown away by the impressive graphics it could produce on the last-gen consoles. While Red Dead Redemption 2’s Story mode has reached millions of gamers from around the world, Red Dead Online failed to garner the same community as GTA Online, which caused Rockstar Games to deprioritize its latest new game.

Whatifgamingggg’s Red Dead Redemption 2 clip starts with the player approaching a gazebo as the main character Arthur Morgan to observe a woman NPC that’s noticeably reading a letter. Out of curiosity, Whatifgamingggg uses Arthur’s binoculars to get a better view of what’s written in the letter that the NPC is reading, but the woman starts getting flustered after noticing him. While the woman was previously gazing at the piece of paper with love, Arthur’s continued prying turned her smile into a scowl within moments before she ignored him once again to smile at the page.
Smiling for a few moments after first picking up on Red Dead Redemption 2’s Arthur Morgan watching her with his binoculars, the woman NPC in Whatifgamingggg’s clip then turns away from him in an effort to put some distance between the two. Though Red Dead Redemption 2 players may expect her to move in a way that would shield the note from view and prevent them from being able to read the cursive text, the NPC moves to hide herself better while emphasizing the letter that Whatifgamingggg was curious about. Given that the in-clip text refers to reading the letter and the NPC couldn’t have known that Arthur was trying to decipher it, the woman may have just been uncomfortable from being under the microscope at the moment.
Because Whatifgamingggg is far from the only Red Dead Redemption 2 player continuing to discover incredible hidden details, Rockstar Games’ 2018 title may still have plenty of small things to stumble upon, like Skyrim or Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Such attention to detail isn’t new to Rockstar Games franchises, as the Grand Theft Auto games have long been known to feature hidden Easter eggs to discover along the way in their respective open worlds.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
